Style it – Style for Mums

By stylist –  Nat Baker

One of the things that mums talk to me about most is that they don’t know where to start when it comes to fashion for themselves…. They don’t know what suits them or where to find budget friendly styles or how to get time to shop.

Just like everyone else, I start the New Year with promises to myself on how this year is going to be different. If this is your year to reinvent yourself or your wardrobe then start small & have FUN with fashion. Even the smallest changes to your personal style can make a difference. Don’t try to overhaul your whole look in a day. Too many changes can often be overwhelming when you are a busy mum & they may make you turn back to the boring and familiar.

Ways to make style changes for mums

– Try new styles (eg. ripped jeans, asymmetrical skirts, peplums) & mix with classics or basic styles

– Pout up in a new colour lippy or paint nails in a bright polish

– Clean out your wardrobe

– Find a new hairstyle

– Buy a new magazine

– Add COLOUR or PATTERN…don’t rely on black everyday

– Visit a stylist (or ask family for a gift voucher when it’s your birthday)

– Go shopping for an hour without the kids
