When I first had my kids I picked THE best outfits for them….designer brands, funky styles, matching blankets for prams, colourful baby trainers. It seemed like I had a plan… and I thought my kids would just do as they were told and wear those cute outfits that cost me a small fortune. But my kids had their own ideas, wanting to wear Dora the Explorer dresses or Diego t-shirts.
As frustrating as this was, I realised that my kids wanted to have their own fun with fashion. Kids are little people wanting to express themselves too! In most circumstances I try to let kids experiment with colour and have fun with fashion.

Style for Kids
– COLOUR….brights vs pastels vs pattern. It doesn’t matter if “pink doesn’t go with red” just let them start to make choices
– Use TEXTURE to make kids outfits interesting eg, Tulle skirts with tees, leather look metallic shorts with print tees, shorts and shiny gumboots
– GUIDE your kids and let them know what is appropriate style for certain occasions
– Keep it COMFORTABLE in soft fabrics that are easy to wear & wash
