I thought it had gone, I really did. I looked in shops for shoes, I looked for interiors, I looked for handbags high and low…and no where was it to be seen!
BUT it now seems to be everywhere I look and I’m pretty damn excited about it. When it rains it pours right? I bet you’re thinking what am I on about? I’m talking all things tan, yep the colour/shade/tone/hue, tan!
What I love about tan, it’s as neutral and effortless as black but it’s not black and yet is still a statement (that takes a bit to get your head around, but hopefully you’re still following). It automatically adds luxury, nine times out of ten it looks better worn and with age than first bought, varying shades of it work, you don’t need much of it at all, and it comes in an array of materials. When I talk tan, I’m mostly talking leather, it just has this lived in, comfort and warmth about it and in any interiors setting these three elements are so crucial to creating the right feel. If you have those three nailed, everything else falls into place or isn’t really noticed, because interiors is equally about creating the right feel as it is having the right products.
Tan works with pretty much any style also, so it versatility makes it always a worthy investment. Bohemian, yes. Minimalist, yes. Industrial, yes. Contemporary, yes. You name it, somehow it just works and blends oh so well. You only need to look to the images attached to see this theory come to life. If the tan leather still isn’t screaming warmth to you, a textured cushion or shearling change that pretty quickly.
Top of my wish list is a tanned butterfly chair and Jardan cushion. You can see in the photographs a touch of tan goes a long way. Totally adore tan paired with pastels, unexpected but works.
