It’s funny what winter can do to us. All of a sudden we can lose motivation. We are covered up and rugged up a lot of the time, even our bodies go into winter hibernation mode and it can feel like we are storing an extra layer of fat!!
I’ve spoken with even the fittest of friends these past few weeks and they are all complaining about feeling ‘heavier’ feeling ‘dull’ and are all totally over winter.
So how can you get your motivational mojo back?
The first thing which I always find helps is to buy some new work out clothes or runners (you don’t have to break the bank). Buy something that makes you feel good and that you can’t wait to wear. Then find someone who you know IS motivated…. Ask how they are going, what’s keeping them motivated and where they are training. Maybe you can join them.
Start eating well. Winter food can be so tasty and healthy – delicious soups, stews, and yummy breakfasts like porridge.
If that doesn’t get you wanting to put your runners on and hitting the streets, then at least your body will thank you for the good nutrition.
Remember….. A summer body is made in winter!!
